I find this site to be very good. It also has Cantonese pronunciations: http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php

I do not know what you mean "not pictures or jpegs of the characters".

A warning: There is no site that can accurately translate whole English sentences into Chinese (or visa versa), since Chinese is not a literal descriptive language like English--it is conceptual and analytic. It's best to consult someone who speaks Chinese.

I think you mean Chinese fonts ?
I use NJStar myself, not the best tool out there, but gets the job done. You also need to search for good fonts that you can download.

My sifu photocopied + enlarged the 12 bridge hands banners that has some very nice Chinese choreography / penmanship. He then laid them out on a piece of cloth, punched some very small / fine holes around each character using a needle, then use a black permanent marker to drop on top of the holes so that an outline of each characters were transferred to the cloth. Then he just coloured each characters. Took him very long and he said he would never do it again.

You may try www.zhongwen.com

and usually new browsers and even word processors have chinese included in their fonts or formatted characters (Unicode). Also you can copy and paste those characters in any search engine to get more results and again copy and paste the content into your word processor.

Don't know if this will help but let's see what others think about:

That is from a remake of "Butcher Wing", a fictionalized history of how Lam Sai Wing first came to know his stuff...

Re-titled as "The Magnificent Butcher", with Hung Gam Bou and Kwan Tak Hing, I actually prefer the flair that Sammo brings...

Anyway, here is Lam Janfai performing as an intro to the original, with the "Twelve Bridges" couplet painted on the wall behind (although one character has been mistakenly rendered, it can be seen once again, properly, as printed in the subtitle):

Yes, that sounds like an afternoon well spent. In all fairness, the original, as much as I enjoy Yuen Biao, he is an Eagle Claw player...

Something like preferring Jet Li portraying Sun Yuk Fong in the Jing Mo Mun movie, rather than Wong Fei Hung, "Once Upon A time...", I guess!

Anyway, @ Ginosifu, I don't know, but you would like a font with which to "flair out" existing characters with your home computer graphics, or just wanted Chinese characters for 12 Bridges/ 10 Poisons only...

If you're needing the characters, Wing Lam Enterprises, if you have his Ling Nam Hung Gar book, you can find the 12 Bridge Characters, go to a calligrapher to put them up on scrolls or banners (you didn't mention what you're going to do with them?):

www.wle.com

10 Killing/ Poison/ Special Hands, well, if anyone can agree on exactly which those are, I don't know where that would be "available", per se...

If you put up the names of the hands you are interested in representing, I'm sure someone would help you with the Cantonese, and from there, the characters...

:D

Best,

Michael
