Hung Kyun is a part of traditional Chinese culture - you will find there same numerical references as in other fields of knowledge in China. few examples are
1 - taai gik, grand ultimate
2 - leung yi, two forces
3 - saam sing, three stars
4 - sei jeung, four symbols, sei gik, four types of attack
5 - ng hang, ng ying, five elements, five animals
6 - luk hap, six harmonies
7 - chat sing, seven stars
8 - baat gwa, eight trigrams
10 - sap ying, ten forms
12 - sap yi ji kiu sau, twelve bridges
...
number of the movements in the set are said to be originaly/traditionaly multiple of 12 - 36, 72 or 108, as in most of the Siulam sets (well, but nobody knows how to count the movements anymore, so who knows... )
