Adding meaningful input in this topic seems to require both a in depth knowledge of Hung Gar, but also of other systems to know where the differences are.
I think with my previous experience in other arts the differences are in the lines of "the hand never returns empty", and yao within gong, and that these differences can be called the seeds Chris means whereupon you can draw techniques.

Do you know you sound like DaiFong when you talk like that?
I have so much stuff that's considered basic in my family... a ton of dumb Fuks think its advanced material.
What would it sound like if I said; Why isn't "that" commonly known? Yeah that's right, i'd sound like you.
You and I can both confront eachother in a way that says..."It's only our own point of view".
The only difference is, i've offered up more.
PM, listed techniques...but they mean nothing without the energies I spoke of. Even he should concede to that.
It's not a put down PM, it's a common thing in Hung Gar to have at least these 3 things behind every method:
1) Good stance structure either moving, stationary or how to bridge with the legs.
2) Good arm Bridges, alive and responsive but not weak...ready to attack with power.
3) Good Power when you strike, lock or throw.
All of these involve a good teacher instructing you how to move and use the energies of the bridges in leg, arm & whole body.
And if anyone isn't being instructed that way....I could easily pull a Chris and say " Why isn't this commonly known?"
I'll tell you why, if the don't. Then they are either Seminar students or book & video students that never had a dedicated teacher for any length of time. And if they did and still don't know, perhaps someone is holding back.

Seriously man, I don't know what got your panties in a bunch, but I don't see where you are getting this holier than thou shit. It was not my intention at all to sound as such. I haven't condemned anybody's "shots in the dark." So I don't know where you are coming from with that.
I didn't say I agree with Pavel's list entirely, hence the reason why I said "essentially" in my reply to PM. Most of what he said I agreed with though.
If it were indeed common knowledge/public domain, from a book or not, and no matter how basic or not (after all, they are seeds, so they are meant to be basic) that would make this whole topic much more ironic, because that would indicate that the info is out there, and yet its still uncommon.
I am not saying some seed list, or whatever, is the end all and be all, or some holy grail, or anything like that. It would only be one rung on the ladder, and, more importantly, the first rung on the ladder.
