BTW, if anyone has good translations... I am deliberately not adding anything other then the images in the hope someone would have good translations. Both because I don't have the knowledge to translate properly myself, and the translations I have are from the common sources so won't be that meaningful to repeat anyway.

Okies, I'll reply later with some views on this step but like to give others a chance first.

I am starting from where I brought my fists into the "curl" position, as our version has a few more movements before going on:
Rotate the arms forward at a forty-five degree angle while rising-the arms spiral forward, then outward, while the body contracts, sinks and packs the breath.. Inhale, while pulling the elbows back, opening up the body, and circle both arms to the front of the body, slightly above the dan-tien,fists clenched, palms up, and exhale. Turn the palms down, seat the wrists, form the kiu-saos, and press the forearms down slightly, pressing out more air, while sinking the dan-tien,and contracting the body. Draw the perinium upas you press the diaphragm down and pack the lower and upper dan=tien.
Then raise the crossed forearms in front of the head, slightly forward, with tension in the arms, down the sides, sink the horse, contract the body.
Inhale and pull back to the sides, bringing the scapula together, sink the elbows to the sides and press the kiu-saos out to the sides, exhaling as you do with tension. Stretch all the way out, feeling the stretching and opening up of the tendons and meridians along the arms and sides of the body, while contracting the dan-tien.
Bring the hands in by bending at the elbows-pull down, by bringing the elbows down and bringing the scapula together again for two more.
Draw the arms into the sides by pulling in from the scapula and elbows, while sinking the wrists, palms down, then slowly shoot out to the sides with the wrist still slightly bent, and at the last six inches or so, shoot again with biu-jee,strtching the arms and the tendons. The breath should be potioned as you move with the last burst sounding,"Tsst."
Pull the elbows in,snap the palms down, dropping the forearms forcibly, exhale and sink, and contract the dan-tien,four fingers point to heaven.

Thanks TT - that is very detailed and includes many things I have never considered, energitically speaking. I'll be playing around with it tonight...

A couple comments: when pushing out 3x, first time we look right, then left, then back in front for 3rd time. Then, when drawing arms in before the biu jees, we do it in tiger shape with a small grab before bringing back in to the waist.

What is the sound of one-hand clawing?

OK, so I hope I'm not jumping ahead here, But it looks as if my version differs here. I have pictures to illustrate this. Reading TT's description, i think it is similar to his. This may be exactly why you can't learn kung fu from a book, as all this may be implied by the picture, i'm not sure.

PS - ignore my sloppy positioning, I couldn't do it perfectly. This was taken with a crappy camera phone without help.

After the Tok(in previous section) Arms curl up in front, then you open up your body as you pull the arms to the side.

Wrists rotate underneath into modified tiger(thats what i call it at least).

Extend the arms with dynamic tension. Pull back, repeat, pull back, repeat.

Lift up

Drop your elbows

Bil - Notice the exposed arm. Very open to attacks and breaks
Image

Ding Kui - sinking the elbow strengthens the bridge and can counter an attack to the elbow when someone is grasping it.
