hello Robert,
i agree - most of the sets which were added later (cca. in the 40's, probably 50's and later) are just the same movements in different order. from all the minor sets, i like only "arrow palm" (jin jeung), as it represents rare "orthodox Siulam, according to legend handed down in Lam family from Ji Sin Sim Si and red boats
i also like "plum flower set" (mui fa kyun), just one thing annoys me - 90% of it is in south paw guard (and i am orthodox); i have even thought of changing the set into its mirror image. Lau ga kyun, wu dip jeung, saam ying kyun plus 101 moern sets, not my cup of tea. gjffk, fhsyk, (nyk), syk, tsk - more than enough.

as for the "ten" (special techniques, killing hands, whatever), i am not interested much in any of the modern sets, but in the list of the actual ten techniques/combinations, as handed down in different families. i have always admired concepts like 10 seed techniques in CLF, 5 elements in xingyiquan etc. - few reliable technqiues that can be drilled over and over.
from all i have seen, this video makes sense most, as it lists sap duk sau as combos, not single techniques

anyway, any list of the core/seed techniques that various families ou ther practice in their daily routine interests me a lot, it does not have to be sap duk sau
