You guys are amazing. I dabbled in the FHSYK before I went back and started really learning the KGFFK from the beginning. I too saw it as just a hook, palm strike to chest, followed by a groin/Tan Tien punch. Looking at it from a Judo perspective, it is so obvious that they could easily be takedowns with the right leg positioning. It's like those visual/perspective riddles, the old woman/young girl type of images.

There are several in the KGFFK too, come to think about it. Some are a little harder to see since there is no footwork in places. The Tearing cloth and splitting Gold after the two Kiu Sau sequences, for instance.
MMA? Sure thing. Rolling around on the floor with sweaty guys wearing just shorts? Uh... not today.
