It's funny and sad at the same time, now that I come to think of it. I did Shaolin for maybe two years in Gothenburg, Tan Tuy being the big part of the curriculum, although I didn't know the name of the set. I asked sifu Boris about names for moves and such, but he had them written down phonetically, and from Peru, the language was Spanish. Move to USA in 99, do absolutely nothing for like 7 years, then start up with whatever I remembered, which wasn't much. Back in those days I was a forms collector, and he taught move by move, then next section of moves, which always drove me insane. It's like watching a weekly series on tv, hungering for the next show, or reading a series of books, waiting for the next chapter. That said, I have read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy over 18 times, in sequence. When the movies came out I was screaming 'HERESY' at the screen throughout. Enough of that.
Came upon a clip of Chiu Chi Ling's Tiger and Crane on youtube, and acquired it, as I might have mentioned earlier. Did more research on Hung Gar, found Wing Lam's site, and started at the beginning. You know the rest. Had I come across a rendition of Tan Tuy, I might not even be on this board, getting to know you all. Is there a Shaolin board like this one? Would the people there have been as helpful and kind as the people here? Would training Shaolin have made my body feel better like Kung Gee does? I have no idea, and at this point it doesn't really matter anyway. Who cares if Lindsey is a great girl when Danielle is your true love?
Again, rambling away as usual...
Cheers!

Here's to cheating, stealing, fighting, and drinking.
If you cheat, may you cheat death.
If you steal, may you steal a woman's heart.
If you fight, may you fight for a brother.
And if you drink, may you drink with me.
