tip for Dutch members, foam sparring swords

Hello Forum,

Just came back from a Wibra store (formerly Scholten) and saw foam swords perfect for sword sparring:

1 Euro each! I see them elsewhere starting 25$ going up to several 100's of $ so not to bad. Might just need to spray them black or so :)

Total length is 77cm. The 'blade' is halfway up filled with a harder plastic, and the tip is just foam. It is still made for kids, hehe. Still I think for 1 Eur its a good buy...

yeah they are great, you can get them here in the USA at Walmart, Target or Toysrus. the cost is between 2 and 5 dollar each.

they also have a straight sword design as well

to make them last longer I found that putting electrical or hockey tape on the blades, makes them a bit stiffer.

or you can make one from scratch
