Ok, I just spoke with Sharif today.... Funny how just a little while ago I was out on the lake(Bass Fishing as Usual) and he calls me.
I told him about this new HungKyun Forum and he should check it out.
I come back and what do I find...Sombody posts about him and he's looking very buff I might add.
Sharif I don't believe that you are a Vegitarian. hahahahahaha too BUFF!
Ok, now I gotta comment on what he did;
(1st method) He called it black tiger steals the heart
-You know, jokingly I'll say that he didn't even attack the heart. haha, he should just call it, double tiger claw.
-- And I Disagree with his very 1st assesment of how he looks at the method. The primary way he showed it 1st DOES work the way he said. Perhaps he doesn't feel comfortable because he is the shorter guy. So he does it his own way. Nobody is wrong...it's just My opinion is that Sharif is making it work for himself, as any good player should do.
So he uses a rising block on the inside and then, subduing hand on the follow up. He then says he'll use Jaming Energy off his Subduing hand and enter.
Ok, if he has the skill to stick and jam on the second beat...he could also do it off the 1st one. If he redirects and also jams in on the 1st beat, he could have crossed his opponants right arm in front of his body from the get go.
I can do it off the 1st arm no problem but if my opponant was taller than me...I could see making the adjustment that Sharif did. It's intelligent for him.
But the alternative to the original method is...(If a person is having a problems on the 1st beat ie.) to adjust the timming and also the footwork to match your opponants commitiment level. Again, i have no problem making it work the 1st way.
Last thing...He said, "If he starts with up and I am down". Well, the answer that is obvious. If your hands are down, of course i'm going to hit your open gate...it's against basic kung fu principle to hit a closed gate.
"Power that begins from low (Sharifs arm) should rise up" , that is natural. Also Sharif could be keeping it low on purpose to DRAW in an upper method. So having his hand low is not an excuse.
Sharif obviously feels more comfortable rising up on the inside gate of his opponants arm. But given a choice, I personally would always work towards my opponants outer gates, for me it works better that way and if I jam him straight away...he cannot follow through with the next punch.
You see how much Typing it took to say all that???? And people wonder why Detailed discussions of the methods are not more common place??
I still say Sharif couldn't possibly be a vegitarian...haha, he's too buff.
