since I live in the philippines theres a few names i always hear again...one of them is Shakespear Chan...his name is even outside the philippines known...I have never met him but through my friend Sifu Alex Co I heard many things...he learned 3 styles..white crane , mantis and hung kuen..now through Alex I got my hands on old martial art mags from the phils and those had many articles of Shakespear Chan...
so hear I share them with u....

Hi Franky,

Wasn't he a member of Ling Nam in Manila? I've heard his name mentioned before, too (or was it just on the internet? can't remember).

Last I'd read somewhere on the internet, he'd been doing weapon seminars somewhere in the USA? Not sure, maybe someone can verify that.

Would you happen to know of his HG lineage?

Here some more infos about him I know...
He learned first HK from Lao Kim,Lao Kim's HK was the so called village HK..through lao Kim Shakesspear couldlearn from Lau ke Tong in HK who is from Dang Fong lineage...Shakespear taught at ling nam and also at Chin Woo here in Manila Chinatown
i have more scanns to come..around 20....just need to edit them..

In some of these pics you can see Frank Rivera who is teaching Hung Gar in the USA. I once met him in New Jersey. He is a fine Hung Gar stylist.

Frank/Francisco Rivera began his study in martial in the late 60's. He first studied Judo and Karate. After seeing a Kung Fu Exhibition his mind was made up. While serving in the U.S. Air Force on assignment in the Philippines he trained at the Chin Wu Athletic Association in Chinatown, Manilla. Frank studied the Hung Gar style of the Tang Fong Lineage (Lau Kai Ton) with master Shakespeare Chan and served as a senior instructor in that lineage.

Francisco Rivera currently lives in Albuquerque New Mexico, and is head instructor of the Chin Wu Athletic Association.

He keeps a low profile so contact his friend Dug Corpolongo of the Shaolin Kuoshu Institute in Albuquerque: dug@lotusdragon.com

thanks for the info..most of this I already knew from Sifu AlexCo whom I see on a regular basis.
I just wondered what he has been up to now and would like to contact him. Thanks for the email addy ofhis friend.
