A quick(ish) translation using on line tools, beware I'm not a native speaker and I don't know the form so some of the translation is utter gibberish, but (hopefully) better than the Babelfish jibber-jabber.

Butterfly appears, flowers spread, will and spirit rise,
Penetrate the forest, resist the enemy, the moon without light;

killing hand, rising yin, twin pipes below,
butterfly posture, flowers advance, the enemy’s gallbladder is destroyed;

Stripping hand and sinking bridge, you must stamp and swing,
A wild torrent without a dam, a power hard to withstand;

When a strong opponent entangles, you should yield position,
Part the grass seeking a snake, without panicking;

Thousand character cutting palm, with an arm like iron,
A pair of flying butteries, advancing step presses;

Venomous Snake follows, you must quickly step,
Cutting strike to below the waist, difficult to defend against;

If an enemy sweeps, a whirlwind yields,
In a passing instance, brutal rain breaks limbs;

Alone against many enemies use the water wave,
With angry spirit and golden dragon, the enemy meets disaster;

Connect to heaven with the roar of a furnace, startle the mountain peaks,
Butterflies interfere and oppressing flowers, spit energy out;

Hooking slingshot is used, splitting gold destroys,
Trim bamboo connecting branches, fierce strength eradicates;

The enemy engages above the centre, it is correct to divide and leak,
Little devil suddenly pledges, grasping treasure throw;

Hateful thunder oppresses the summit, you must be quick to overcome,
Strange peak, retreat in defense, is this moment’s strategem;

step back into horse, piercing bridge, prevent the enemy crowding,
drunken fall, riding a donkey, wash away the ninth state;

lift pot advance wine, with little left over,
Dove takes a magpie's nest, decide and see excellence;

slanting gate receives attack, worth reusing,
Butterflies flying apart, are there for a reason;

If a whirlwind is met you must quickly avoid,

Maintain and depend on hard training to obtain a foundation;

what is the history behind the form. Visually it appears softer then other HG with a touch of northern flavor?

Chiu Kau branch teaches it, but not Lam Jo's. Who else

the set was created by Leung Winghang, student of Lam Saiwing. i do not know much details about him. he was a good friend of Grandmaster Lam Jou (he was actually the one who has designed the tiger crane diamond logo for his school); 3 training brothers - Lam Jou, Dang Hinchoi and Leung Winghang got the same tattoo (Chinese sword, gim) on the forearm together.

he was till teaching in HK in 1950's/1960's; he was also know as a founder of se maau hok kyun (snake, crane and cat system) - here is a pic of him performing a pattern from the set:



my 2 cents: there are couple of good techniques in the set, and couple of good combos, but i do not like it, do not like the northern flavour, structure etc. i have never learned it, and do not want to.
