Typical JKD style trapping... 
IMO, trapping, for the most part, is a farce. It's a "range" that only exists in training, because the opponent leaves his limb out there to be adhered to, or is complying/agreeing to the range, etc.
The problem with trapping is that it has been expanded into a full on range, when the training of trapping was only meant to train attributes that were to be used in a fraction of a second in time.
With real energy, most of this stuff leads to wrestling, and all of these energy drills, etc really turn into mental masturbation with no basis in reality.
Traditionally, there was a time and place for training like this, and, eventually, the practitioner left it behind for other [more realistic] modes of training and skill development.

Maybe more indonesian influence than JKD? but I agree it is a different take on Hung Gar bridging.
That said what I really like about Phil's stuff is that with these demos he's really introducing and showing sensitivity right away, albeit from a near-outside range.
I find (at least in my school) we tend to focus too much on hard bridging and not enough on sensitivity. Working on a softer, more listening approach from the get-go would in the end produce better fighters.
Without pushing the "bridge" analogy too far, going all gong, all the time is like "a bridge over the river kuai": you can destroy it all you want, someone's come around and rebuild it behind you or right next to the old one. So you need to master the soft as well: intelligence, people, and not just bomb things away in order to be truly efficient.
