Fu Hok Opening

Many schools use this opening, I have seen it in LSW as well as TF lines.
I am not sure of the name, but it is the opening with the circular upward spear hand into the spreading crane wings before the "Dragon and Tiger" emerge bow.
What is the name of this sequence?
What is the meaning/significance?
Who originated it?

If 0:16 is what you are referring to, my sifu explains this as a very common thing for southern schools of kung fu and that the motion going down is a hook hand, but the same movement but rising is a long armed kick hand. Hope this helps.

CJ888 explained it perfectly. These hands cut into pressure points with either side of the wrist.

As represented within the Hung Ga system, the "Crane Wing" salutation is orthodox Wong Feihung.

Yeah, the Hop Gar system also seems to use these a lot. Kick hand more so than hook hand at least from what I have seen and what my sifu has been kind enough to show me.

perhaps it is paying homage to Wong Yun Lum, as there are many signature Hop-Ga techniques emphasized in FHSYK?

Well, you'd have to factor in Jow Ga Kyun and Choy Lee Fut as well, because it is also found throughout those styles.

Now, if you were asking about Pok Yik Sau/ "Wing Flip", that would be another story altogether.

the crane wings are called "seung cham kiu"

In the lineage of grand master Lee Chan Wo they seem to do more tiger claws instead of crane wings:
