My take is there's good power and intent in this vid but I do think the performer is at times lazy.
- He's leaning too much on his palm strikes/tiger claws - it's fine to lean if you step in and your stance supports it, but here is is not and he is essentially leaning on his tippy-toes which is bad. In some cases stepping is fine - when he does left and right bong sau for example.
- He could be stepping better and covering more on the 180 degree turns - a couple times when he does it to side it's much better, but when he is doing it to front, he stepping should be more "open" and provide a better base, and he should lean away from front and under the strike as he's coming back around.
- Generally, he could do a better job of covering the front. Note that classical CLF doesn't necessarily do a great job at this as it is a much more "open" style, but in a modern context it is possible to do essentially the same set, but close it up in front.
All in all, though it's a pretty good demo, and shows some core CLF techniques in action.
