8 Trigram Pole...Step

How the 'instructor' thought that a little child was ready to learn 8 Trigram Pole is beyond belief:

This appears to be from the same "Step" McGwoon.

She neglected to shout out the names of the moves as she was doing them!

Wow notice the pretty stickers on the pole or how about the patch?

Usually only someone senior in a school would be demonstrating long pole... she's too young obviously.

When I learned long pole, I spent 3 months just doing Lift and Snap down..."Tang Kwun" = Spelling? with a pole twice my size. Foundation and fundamentals first, then learn the form.

Oh MAN, it's dudes like this "Gohring guy" that have me doubting about putting out another video showing some Hung Concepts. But then again, we can't let guys like this moron to impead the progress of Hung.

You put out stuff and guys like him will steal it and make a seminar on it.

Oh well,
"O"

@cheesedip: You're right, in the Faak Ging Wong lineage (    ), it's ALL ABOUT shouting the moves. Technique, schmecnique...who needs it?!? *sigh*

@"O": Exactly.

The kid is cute. It's good exercise for her & it's a good meeting place to develop social skills. Her parent(s) just want what's best for her and what better activity to get involved in than martial art?! But she's obviously not ready to learn Yeung Ga Ng Long Baat Gwa Gwan. For that, the "instructor" should be questioned.

Clearly Mr Ghorings kung fu is business. While I have huge issues with the quality of his teaching, the dude makes money. How many people are ever able to actually make a living from teaching?

Don't get me wrong their stuff I think is horrible, but player, play your game.

Mc Dojo. Eh!

I find a good indication of schools quality is to take a look at the schools advance students. Beginners will be beginners, but the advance students have been at the school long enough to soak up the schools teachings and will give a good indication on how good the schools teachers really are.

Good for him he is making money. I guess you do have to sell your soul to make money in this business.

I don't think you have see your soul to make good living teaching. Having a successful school and quality students can go hand in hand. After all Ed Parker was very successful and produced a great many quality martial artist.

However in this schools case. I would say yes, his soul was sold to some lower level demon.

There's an intestinal virus going around in the US..basically exploding from both ends....
I think that would be an apt description....
