Out of all the weapons the Tiger Fork is the one I want to learn the most.

I love the way your Sigung plays it in the flix Franky(Legendary Weapons I believe).

It's way down the line for me in my curriculum.

I think Sigung also used the tigerfork in his cameo in 8 diagram pole fighter...Tigerfork is also one of my favies to play..we have a very heavy one here which is 50 plus years old..the weight is 14 pounds...nice workout when playing the form.

That Hung Gar tiger fork form has many of the techniques in the Tang Fong Version of Yee chi Wai.

Man that is one big fork, probably could impale an elephant.

no matter how many times the ball bounces, there's still no bones in ice cream.

Doesn't look like the version i'm learning either but it looks like the player
has good technique and a decent understanding of the weapon. I
usually take a long time to "understand" a form. I can learn it in a day
but to really know and understand the intention is another thing. To me
the fork is one i keep learning. I still suck!! But i'll get it!

Hey PM, what a cool pic!! Who is the guy and do you have any history
on that particular fork? Such as who made such a beast, and what are
the specifications, i.e. weight, material...
We have one in the kwoon that is approx 13-14 pounds. What a burn.

Jow Yeroc the dai pa i assume you are learning was first taught in the u.s. directly to your sifu Hoy Lee and sifu Deric Mims by Chan Man Cheung himself during the late 80's or early 90's. My Sifu Dean Chin did not teach the jow ga dai pa in our school  there was one dai pa (not jow ga) circulating through our school, which came from a friend of Dean Chin's.

not too many people were actually taught the jow ga version from Chan Man Cheung. A few have learned from a video tape and claimed to have learned it. it's a nice dai pa set you are learning from Sifu Hoy Lee and i hope to see you perform it this year during the u.s. jow ga anniversary banquet at your school :)

take care

Theoldest version comes from a super 8 from the 70's. Its dark and grainy but the person demonstrating I believe is Asian, he is wearing a t-shirt.

Another one I believe came from Hoy Lee's school demonstation, I think it was a grand opening?

the other one I'm sure was from a tournament, which one I don't know, would have to check.

I'll see if I have some time during spring break to try and dig them out (can't even remember what the tape is labeled as?)
