Chunyat, you make me laugh!!!
Are you trying to get me in trouble??
Below are only my observations / opinions so no offense intended.
I will say this: my 1st impression is that he's definately not Lam Jo line. I'd be very surprised if he was. He doesn't display the body english or the flavor of the LJ line.
I have not studied the Tang Fung Line but I have seen plenty of it. Best guess is it's NOT them either.
Certain things are pointing me in the direction of the Chiu's.
*** In fact, Chiu Wai specifically... Just my guess because he's doing certain things very similar to his flavor.
SOOOO I'm gonna put my cards on the table and say that he learned from Chiu line somewhere.
Vaulander... This guy is obviously doing a demo at dinnertime. His casual energy when he 1st begins the set is a dead giveaway. He's obviously Not being super serious...rather he's in demo mode.
I've said it many times about demo...when a camera is on you, some people have a great ability to disguise what they know. Chiu Wai himself told me and my brother this once, "Never show your real skill to the camera".
That is specifically why I have so much Cautious Respect for Chiu Chi Ling for example. I personally seen him be very serious with his students in Oakland when we were getting ready for SF Chinese New Year Parade. He can kick a$$ when he wants to. Other times when the camera is rolling he can be very Joyfull and playfull.
What you have to understand is that masters of old were always cautious of someone being able to SEE YOU and STEAL some skill from you. Lam Jo is a perfect example, it is said that in his time, he only needed to see a person do a set once and he already absorbed it. That's how sharp his eyes are, pretty cool eh?
