one of the old texts written by Jyu Yujaai, student of Grandmaster Lam Saiwing, is mentioned how Lau Jaam has becomed an apprentice of Grandmaster Lam.

it says that during the baai si ceremony he has also offered the joss sticks and lighted candles in front of the Grandmaster White Crane's (Baak hok sin si 白鶴先師) ancestral tablet (san wai 神位) in Lam Saiwing's school.

interesting! i do not think it has anything to do with Tibetan baak hok/Hap ga/lama paai, but with Fukgin baak hok and tit sin kyun.

any thoughts?

well, I have always maintained that the short bridging sections in the FHSYK and NYK/SYK seem to be related to Fukien White Crane/Hakka Kuen.(Fukien WC,SPM) Note the stance,structure,elbows in, hands in front of the body,concave chest,foa-chum,tun-toa, and especially the handstrikes themselves. This could be some pieces to the puzzle.
