Cheng Yee Kung Fu School presents… Yik So (Sau) Kuen

A Seminar for an Internal & External martial arts learning experience.

* A.K.A. “Life-Prolongation Boxing”, it is a form created by Grandmaster Chiu Wai. A great addition to any school or students repertoire, the skills learned are akin to Tai Chi Chuan and also some harder more external kung fu as well. What gives this set value is the relaxed nature and LESS about Hard Power. When you're relaxed you listen more and are able to "Follow" your opponent better. Then you can apply with impunity once they are weak.

** Topics cover the form and function of the applications. Drills and theory will also be discussed and applied.

When: Saturday June 18th, 2011
Time: 9am - 3pm possible, with lunch break
Where: Erickson Park (Military Hwy) Gales Ferry, CT

I think that will be a great seminar! Anyone not familiar with practicing in Tai Chi motion will be surprised at how much you can learn and how difficult it is to do with proper mechanics and intent. It's too easy to hide bad habits or improper mechanics at full speed. "O" will be a good teacher.

The form is just another form, really easy to pick up for most people..especially if they already know some Hung.

What I really look forward in doing though, is showing how Hung works (for me) and showing some different ways to use the applications.

I can't believe i'm saying this but i'll probably let go of some of my better drills. I must be getting older because I think I finally ready to start sharing alittle. Haha

It takes courage to share, theres always the possibility of folks misinterpreting or just unwilling to accept/unable to accept. Its great to see folks wanting to share what they feel is genuine and functional martial arts!
