I was using the bodybuilder angle as a reference.
What I mean by heavy legwork and stances, is that if you go from say, 15 minutes of Sei pin ma each day, and suddenly double or triple it several days in a row, it might be a shock for the system. I am by no means a physical therapeut or even much worth in Hung Gar, but I do know about pain and hard brutal strain on the body. Having ridden a bicycle in a hostile environment where you have to push it or get sideswiped or run over you learn the cost of pushing too hard too fast. If I had pushed as hard and fast in the beginning as I could do at the end, I would have collapsed and most likely done more damage to my joints because they weren't ready for it.
Here's to cheating, stealing, fighting, and drinking.
If you cheat, may you cheat death.
If you steal, may you steal a woman's heart.
If you fight, may you fight for a brother.
And if you drink, may you drink with me.

At the peak of my training i was training 6-8 hours a day and i did this for almost a year straight maybe a year and a half. Usually 7 days a week although sometimes i would take sunday off. Its not somthing you can jump into. Its somthing that you have to ease into. When i first started training i would do like 100 knuckle pushups a day and when i was at my peak it was 1000 and a 1000 situps and that was just daily conditioning. I find that working out at like 5-6 am when your body is at its strongest and your mind is clearest is when you should work out the hardest. Then in the evening like at say 6 pm work on clearer technique, maybe do hand conditioning or arm conditioning somthing a little less hard core but still working up a sweat. Also if your going to work out like that you need to get good rest, don't put junk into your body like sugar of any sort, caffine and NO SEX it will kick your ass if you do. Eat as much natural foods as you can with the least amount of spices and additives as possible. Think nature. Fruits vegetables and as much protein as your body needs or you'll get exhausted quite fast. Anyways those that are out there and are able to train this hard will most likely say much of the same stuff. If a body part hurts take a break and work another aspect of your training and let it rest. I trained multiple times with broken hands from street fights i got into when i worked in the club and never the less i was still training somthing. Anyways im ranting so hope this helps good luck
