Didn't like it so much. They spent 5 minutes with Wing Chun, which was ok. the Chi sao and punches were technically correct, but i don't know what they were going to learn in a day. The rest was complete BS and seemed to me that the communist gov't probably set them up with these Saan Da guys.

ps - When they drank Tea with the Sifu, do you think they waited for him to drink first? not likely.

I've been following this show since the beginning, and, to be honest, I DREADED watching the gung fu episode, because I knew it would probably be the gheyest episode out of them all. IMO, it was the worst episode.

The way I predicted it was that they would obviously focus on san shou/san da, and then probably show some wing chun, possibly some shuai jiao, and then the rest would focus on wushu or movie-based bull.

The show pretty much went the way I predicted...

Why the wire fu? What's that got to do with any kind of fighting skill.

Sounded like it sucked ballz.

Let's face it. There could of been a whole episode dedicated to one style if they wanted too.

Maybe if the show goes for another season they will break it down.

I doubt it though.

i really like the series. as Chris said, this worst episode so far.

BUT - to all the readers: to be candid - does not it reflect the state of (T)CMA today?

just imagine they would come to your school. do you have fighters that they can challenge? what set of rules (clear, relatively safe) and protective gear would you offer them? (something you do not make up on the spot, but something that you are used to, something you really train).

if they would come to your school to learn some fighting techniques/skills, what would you teach them?

or, would you tell them legendary stories of the past, tell them that the secret techniques are too deadly, tell them that they have to learn a dozen of sets first, give them nice silk pyjamas, show them couple of Shaw Bros/Golden Harvest flicks, tell them that you practice for health and that gungfu is not for fighting but spiritual development?

i am 100% sure how it would look like in majority of so called gf schools.

my Sifu and I were chatting about it and how they would have gotten a better Kung Fu experience if they went to san fran, nyc, or toronto china towns.
