Chinese Theatre or Opera

This may not be related but I was wondering how close is the Chinese theater to Hungkyun either in the performance of forms or in the acrobatics. I imagine that in the past schools will perform to attract students and it looks some sifus even played in the opera. Any thoughts? Thanks.
