Celebration of the 149th birthday of grandmaster Lam Saiwing
Posted: Mon Oct 26, 2009 10:44 amThe first day of the tenth month of the Chinese lunar calendar will mark 149 years since the birth of one of the most significant masters of southern Chinese martial arts, grandmaster Lam Saiwing, uncle, adoptive father and teacher of the current Lam family Hung Kyun patriarch, grandmaster Lam Jou.
On this occasion, Pavel Macek´s Hung Kyun Gym (Lam Ga Hung Kyun; LGHK), with the cooperation of fellow southern Chinese martial arts schools, will hold a celebration in grandmaster´s honor on the 21. and 22. of November. This year´s event will also serve as a preparation for a big international event - the 150th anniversary celebration that we are planning for November 2010.
Program:
Ceremony and bow in front of the altar of Lam Saiwing Jung Si
Cross-training seminars (app. 1 hour or more each)
- Pavel Adamek sifu (Hung Kyun): Focus mitts drills – attack combinations; throws in Hung Kyun
- Jan Hrankay sifu (Hung Kyun): Sei ping ma/ji ng ma: Bodywork and footwork, rotation, generating power
- Ludek Sulda sifu (Hung Kyun): Traditional bodybuilding and stretching methods
- Ivan Rzounek sifu (Wing Chun): Chi sau ("sticking hands") - "take/use, interrupt, attack"
- Jan Novak sifu (Wing Chun): Wing Cheun saan da
- Lukas Slavicek (Wing Chun, Choi Lei Fat): Power Generation in Choi Lei Fat
- Pavel Macek sifu (Hung Kyun): Basic concepts of LGHK application drills
Lectures (app. ½ hour or more each)
- Pavel Adamek sifu: Qi in human organism; exhibiton of health voice gigong in relation to internal organs
- Jan Novak sifu (Wing Chun): Practical self-defence in traditional Southern Chinese martial arts
- Pavel Macek sifu: Lam Ga Hung Kyun curriculum
