Any application or reason for the unicorn step. Sometimes I see an jump in between and it seems to be more a theatrical step but I may be wrong. Thanks,

unicorn step can be used for leg/ankle locking, breaking.

could you elaborate? It seems a very common stance but done differently for what I've seen in youtube.

Are we talking about the stepping between the tiger and the crane section in Fu Hok now? Or in general, also before the butterflypalms in FHSYK and GGFFK.

In GGFFK after the sei ping ma section there is also some weird stepping that does not seem to be so practical. I believe now however that was done on purpose, as GGFFK is a foundation set to learn the student to do complicated stepping. Better make it difficult to get max benefit from it. If you think I'm way off, see signature :twisted:

At first I saw the section in between tiger & crane the same. Practice "weird stepping".

But I like TT's application better.... Especially considering FHSYK is considered to bea fighting set.

Hmm, time to play with that and experiment...

agreed. i see it as a break of the opponents horse, which in turn can damage ankles, etc.
