i bet we all watched cool shows Fight Quest and Human Weapon (History channel, resp. Discovery):

imagine you will be contacted by team of these show with the following proposal: we plan to shoot an episode about Hung Kyun; we would our guys to train Hung Kyun in your school for cca. week and than have a match with one of your fighters - rules, rounds, protective gear etc. is up to you.

my question is: what would you practice with them (techniques, strategies, conditioning... )? what kind of intensive Hung kyun crash course would you prepare for them? how would you test them in the final match?

But to go answer your questions. Hihi, saam sing, stance training and some other associated lin gung which is typical to Hung Kuen. Maybe some tiger techniques to one, and crane techniques to the other as they split up for training.

Final match, I dunno... Full protection and its hard to do 100% Hung Kuen (breaking, claws to the face, groin, etc.), without full protection and you can't really make it a sporting match which is the goal with their program.

Just my idea's.

From my perspective, training any true martial art for a week is not in the spirit of the art.

Asmo: i hoped that the title of the thread will attract more readers, nasty trick right? my point of view is quite different, i will give my answer later, i am curious what others think about it, as i think it says something baout the present and future of our art

I am: no doubt, i agree, but that is not the question (although i personally think that both shows showed a lot of true martial arts and its spirit). nobody can learn any martial art or sport in a week, however, many martial arts teachers have prepared an interesting crash course for the guys (who already have martial arts background) and the results could be seen in the final match - using the art they have tried in various forms of fights. if kali, karate, Muay Thai, boxing, pencak silat, Wing Chun, savate, hapkido, jiu-jitsu, krav maga, judo, pankration, sambo etc. were able to do it, why not us, Hung Kyun guys? (yes, why?)

there would be alot of horse, alot of farting and alot of eating. lol that would be the essence of that episode
