hello to all Hung Kyun brothers,
in our family, we have a unique barehanded set that does not come from Wong Feihung jousi, but from a family of Lam Saiwing's ancestors. this set is called arrow/war palm (jin jeung 箭/戰掌). i have gathered some info about this set, but still not much so i woudll iek to ask you, gentlemen, does anybody have more info about its origins and history?

I don't have much info historically but I know a few of my Si Hings know this set. They in turn learned it from Sifu Donald Hamby who learned it from Master Lam Chun Fai I believe.
After I finish Gung Gee, maybe I'll bug one of them to show me

from the vids, it seems to be half of Heart Penetrating Palm.
another form that few schools play. I don't know the origin of that form, but I believe Chiu family does it.

TT, "heart penetrating palm" (chyun sam jeung) and jin jeung are the same sets, just different names. btw. on the web there is not full video of the set - eg. Wing Lam sifu's shortened version is cca. one third of the original set.

this one is almost full set, just few sections are missing:

Hey PM,
From what I know, Jin Jeung (War Palm) is a set that Lam Sai Wing picked up from his ancestors (with roots to Gee Sim, or Siulum Jing Jung) and was re-choreographed by himself and was taught to officers or anyone who was part of the neighbourhood watch (Mun Tuen).
Some of his students eventually learned the set from him. Some, such as the Chius, further modified the set and included techniques that they learned prior to training with Lam Sai Wing. The Chius called their modified set Chum Sum Jeung (Heart Penetrating Palm). Chum Sum Jeung seems longer and more aggressive than War Palm to me. I've also heard that Chum Sum Jeung might have been choreographed as a performance version of War Palm.
The form that Wing Lam demonstrated is called Jin Sau/Jeung (Arrow Hands), a shortened version of the Heart Penetrating Palm which is taught to beginners.
So to sum everything up, there's the original Jin Jeung, the modified Jin Jeung by Lam Sai Wing, Heart Penetrating Palm by the Chius, Arrow hands, and other unknown modified versions.
Without a doubt, some of the techniques in War Palm resembles that of Wing Chun, except done in a horse instead of a pinch stance.

hello,
thanx for the info, it confirms my research and the corrections written above.
just a note - i have not seen any non-Lam Saiwing jin jeung, so it is hard to judge how modified the set is or not and how the original looked liked.
i have seen that some "Red Boat Opera WCH" lineages in Malaysia/Singapore have jin jeung (arrow palm) in their curriculum. i would love to see how does it look like and if there is any resemblance to our jin jeung.
all the best
