heres an old article about Chan hon Chung sifu'sincident at his school,where 3 burglars tried to rob his house.I hope i will get soon a translation from a good friend...

the article went over 6 pages,the last 2 pages show some self defence techniques...

it would say something to the effect of '3 goons tried some monkey
business with a famous, tough hung ga sifu and got their asses handed
to them.'

Interpretner's opinion:
I read a newspaper and I could recall as the way my newspaper described.
Chan Hon Chung 陳漢宗-CHC defeated the burglars,
firstly by empty hands and then using a staff. This was a smash case in Hongkong.
Many reporters collected details and there would be a difference between as
informants came from different ways.
The main subject for MA person, is that sifu CHC showed to the world kung-fu help
us to protect our lives and properties. And once the applications are distributed,
there would be fatal consequences. We can see here the power of every Hung Gar Kuen.
They were defeated with Internal Damages 內傷, which are usually appliied by good trained M.A.artist.

The accident:In Hongkong year 1970 the CNY Eve, burglars steathly entered the premises of
Hung Gar sifu Chan Hon Chung 陳漢宗 at his Tailor shop located No.729 Nathan Road,Kowloon,Hongkong.

yet he confronted with the burglars using [蝴蝶掌BUTTERFLY PALM] as in the Hung Gar,

This was what siMo handed over to CHC during robbery

and later certified as URINE which was excreted by the burglar duly hit by CHC at his scrotum

As a matter of fact, there were 4 burglars, young and carrying sharp knives.
CHC had no chance to get wooden bench or cudgel, only exerted his skill of
Hung Gar Kuen trained for decades -- using the[蝴蝶掌BUTTERFLY PALM]
methods to confront with them.
Now briefly how CHC bare handed bravely defeated these 4.
The Chinese New Year Eve, after business closing, all his employees left.
CHC was about to sleep at the mezz floor of the back portion shop,
in the 4.jpg>>>> and siMo(wife of sifu) was checking and clearing stuffs in the front
shop, but she could not find the relative key for locking the main gate.
She intercomed to CHC asking, and CHC came to front shop.
AS he reached there, all in front of him were 4 burglars showing up with knives.
They stealthly slided open the gate and entered. Burglar A & B grasped siMo.
The other C & D slide-closed the gate. CHC marched stance in his shouting
using [朝天柱香UPWARD JOSS-STICK] and
in the lightening speed thrust punch to D.
(Frank, I do not why it was D not A or B, but the magazine said so)
at his wasit, and this bad guy immediately fell down 4-5 feet back, then
a push palm strike and D was off and saved siMo and led her back into the
back portion shop.
The rest A B C guys then all well up and attacked CHC, and tried to chop him.
CHC turned the stance and dodged quickly and imposed a very famous Hung Gar
[蒼龍取水HEAVENLY DRAGON TAKE WATER] of the[蝴蝶穿花BUTTERFLY FLYING IN THE FLOWERS].
As D got palm pushed at waist again, he screamed so painfully, faces getting pale color,
sweating drops like yellow bean size,
As CHC drew back, and the cupborad blocked his way, then A B C came up and chopped again.
D though got striked yet tolerated the pain to revenge and joined A B C chopping.
B chopped downward, CHC used the [魁星踢斗GIANT KICK STAR] kicked at his waist and letting him dropped
backward.
But again D chopping came, CHC no doubt a very trained boxer, facing so many chopping,
exerted calm enough the [斜飛進劍SLANT ANGLE INSERT SWORD], all in a second, left palm propped D's arm,
just CHC turned the stance and his right fist thrust from upward from beneath right at D's jaw.
CHC stayed away from the knife blades.

And at this moment, B's blade came, CHC caught his arm but the cupboard blocked the way,
CHC back got cut by B's blade.
CHC dodged and exerted [餓鶴尋蝦HUNGRY CRANE HUNTING SHRIMP] pushed B 4-5 feet away
and landed on the main gate BANG it lound!!!!
The 4 buglars fled. CHC chased after but siMo stopped sifu doing so. And CHC then noticed
he was cut at the back.

When I look at the pic of CHC, I feel as if I'm looking at Lam Sai Wing.
Do you guys do have this similar feelings?
sifu Chan Hon Chung look very much like GGM LSW, isn't?
especially his spirit in showing up all these applications.

When I look back to many oldy Hung Kuen sifus, I noticed
they all appeared to be very young, much younger than their
ages, and strong and healthy. I praise the founder of Hung Kuen
for his talent transmitting us from generation to generations this high skill M.A.

Hey Frank and everybody,
I do wish to thank you all for the opportunity in sharing these
valuable infos and pictures.
Something always bothering is that-- the recent years, many people shifted
their mode of practising kung-fu for better looking but for lesser
funtional. If this carry on, I'm afraid the old tradition kung-fu culture be
vanishing and then our coming generations are just idiots in playing
but not practising M.A
When the first time I viewed sifu Frank Lau's articles and clips, I was
so astonished as there is till a sifu sticking to the traditions and showed
out the real spirit(神諳)/ power(功力)/seriousness(認真)/eagerness (刻苦),
all of which are the essences of training,
and these bring practitioners the
hard time. Thru Frank, I can see how good his sifu is, as he could transmitted explained
to Frank the inside requisitions of being a CMA artist- creating Air(氣) thru the fist set,
and circulate internal potnetial thru it, e.g. the Iron Wire.
I was very much impressed by sifu Mark Ho and sifu Frank Lau. All true and nothing but the truth.
I love the name of this topic [All Hung Kyun Branches are One Family]
and I believe ever one joined here would enjoy and share the happiness
without fail.
So everybody, keep moving and bring new generation to inherit the
wonderful M.A.
that keep our generations be healthy and equipped with superb skills
