I am super stoked to be learning this set. Just started learning the first few moves tonight and I am definitely feeling it.

I feel that now a new phase of my training is about to begin. I have learned a decent amount of sets thus far. All have great benefits but this is the one I have been waiting for.
After years of watching my Si Hings and Hing dai doing this has given me some insights...but learning it from my Sifu is a definite honor.

Just wanted to share this with all the online Hung Kuen brothers. Hope to be interacting on the Gung Gee thread soon, in some small way.

GGFFK is my favorite set so far, it has so much in it you keep exploring and discovering new things

I don't know how much right of existence that GGFFK thread has :\ Too little posts to make it useful IMHO. I wouldn't mind trying to resurrect it again but I'm afraid it'll die as it has several times now...

I am currently up to the part shown in the image.
Since staring this set. My bridges feel stronger and my horse is getting better. I am enjoying what I know so far and I am always looking forward to the next few moves. I learn usually three or four at a time.

I loved making slow steady progress with this set. I found that the more I did it, the more correct my other forms got with stance, structure, power, etc. Just the process of working through it improved everything else I had worked on.

That's one of my fave parts of the set! I like the chi-flow of the combo found there, just before the sequence of the upcoming four elbow breaks.

No matter where someone is in their training, GJFFK will always be challenging, especially if you vary the way you play it (e.g. hard, slow like tai chi, multiple times back-to-back at proper pace, etc.).

Good stuff, BShaw! You've made powerful gains already. Keep up the good work

I haven't been to the kwoon in a few weeks so when I went tonight Sifu gave me a lot to digest.
Everything after the chop... ranging from the hanging hammer technique and the claws raking back to the waist to name a few. I'm gonna be mad sore tomorrow but it was worth it.
This is where I left off basically with the uppercut coming right after.
