night tiger emerges from the jungle (ye fu cheut lam)
this rare set was already discusses here on the forum. i cannot find the thread, so i will post a research update to this new one.
being in HK and CHina for almost 6 weeks now, i had a rare opportunity to spent some training time with Leung Gamgong sifu (student of Wong Lei), his student, Wong Jungman sifu and his grandstudents.
Leung sifu explained ye fu cheut lam is actually 2 sets, ye fu and cheut lam.
- ye fu is very long "narrow stance, short bridge" set, similar to WCH, with logical and symetrical structure. its aim is to develope "inch power".
- cheut lam concentrates more on "scissor hands" and (anti)"grabbing-holding" (kam na).
Grandmaster Wong Lei has learned the set before he started to study at Lam gwun. it goes back to a mong form Gam Saan Temple, and according to some, to "Black Tiger" Sou (Sou "Hak Fu") of Gwongdung Ten Tigers.
all the best
