Generally hung gar is not know for its grappling techniques. How much do people train counters to leg shoots or other take downs. Do you have any favourites ? Anyone have a counter to a double leg takedown ?

Can anyone see why the technique demonstrated by the Bugwa instructor at 8 minutes in using a low stance to trap the attackers arms should be incompatible with hung gar principles ? Am I right in thinking that some versions of Lau gar have a stance similar to the one he uses ?

Sharifs stuff looks good. He relies on his hand speed a lot. IMO it looks like he sometimes takes the long way around to the result, if that makes sense. I do like his explanation and theory.

Why do you think the counters are so similar to wrestling ? Is it because the same problem leads to the same answer. Or because Hung kyun does not have the answers so they are imported from wrestling ?

Can anyone break down a grappling counter from one of the Hung forms ?

Am I wrong in liking Sifu Bey's counter because it looks so simple and Hung like. Is this a case of what Subitai was saying about real fighting looking messy ?
