A very interesting take on fu-hok, from Foshan, china (performer is from Australia):

I'm no Hung player so pardon my unauthoritive reply, but of the many
fu hok performances i've seen on you tube i thought this one was good.
Yes different than some others in rhythm and delivery but then i don't
think i've seen it played two times the same way yet. I definitely don't
think it's bad but some of you may have a different opinion.

Check this version. Not sure yet, but this guy does a jow ga hoi jong so
i believe this is the jow ga fu hok seung ying kuen. I haven't learned jow
ga version yet so i'm not sure if this is. But that is a jow ga salute.

Hi jow yeroc - thanks for your honesty.

My turn: Some of the youtube comments were very negative (one said "wushu-ized"), but I'm of the same opinion as you that it is not a bad performance. And like you I too have seen some "non-wushu'ized" versions on youtube from chinese Sifu's that were way worse than this one.

It's true that the performer is being needlessly "flashy", but I like the dynamic nature of his interpretation, and although it has the rythm of modern "wushu", I don't feel he steps or moves like "wushu" at all.

BTW some of the stuff in this set I don't agree with, but on the whole it looks ok, and I think it shows an interesting and different take on the set.

Anyone know what lineage this is?
