in our kwoon - and it's my teacher and si-hing doing Gung Gee in the video posted at the top - Chan Hon Chung's teaching tells us that the beginning of the Iron Wire Principle (not the form itself) - the breathing and the start of the vocal intonations - starts with Gung Gee (as it also forms the opening to both Sap Ying Kuen and Tit Sin Kuen), that is why the video on Facebook is titled such...again apologies for my filming of it, I should have asked former forum member Popsjnr (standing at the back of the video) to film it instead..

Oh I think I get it. Are you saying your Kwoon refers to the section you mention through all the sets as Iron Wire?

yes any time we are doing the breathing or noises we call it the Iron Wire process, hope that helps

To clarify, it has been said that Wong Feihung brought Tit Sin Kyun/ "Iron Wire" into the curriculum of his father, Wong Keiying, who originally taught the Hung Ga Saam Jin Kyun/ "Hung Family's Three Extensions Boxing", as his personal training system for noi gung/ "internal skill".

Entirely compatible with Lam Fooksing's "Iron Wire", the "Three Extensions Boxing" was absorbed into this set, and, but for a few distinct and signature techniques, the methods which were shared in common became as one.

Indeed, the hoy jung/ "opening section" of the GJFFK, SYK, and TSK sets as we practice them today, actually represents a synthesis of both the "Three Extensions" and "Iron Wire" methods, combined.

From this, we may infer that the foundation of our Hung Ga method is noi gung.

Now, to say, Gong Yu Tit, Yau Yu Sin/ "hard as Iron, soft as thread", is to say that one should balance "being firm, without straining, and being supple, without laxness" in one's own daily practice of noi gung.

Therefore, Tit Sin/ "Iron Thread" can be understood as being, much more than just a set, but rather a standard to which all Hung Ga practitioners should aspire.
