Hi all,
I have a little doubt about the Fo Hang in Sap Ying Kyun.The first two strike are called Fo Jin Cheui. The third and the forth techniques before Tu Hang are called simply Jin Kyun or have a different name?
Another question: Yat Ji Cheui is a vertical fist that has the shape of the Yat (曰) character. What is the different between Yat Ji Cheui, Fo Jin Cheui, Dyun Kyun (the technique in Fuk Fu Kyun before Wu Dip Jeung - Keileun Bo)?

Those techniques you mention all use the vertical, or Yat Ji/ "Sun Character" fist position...

many time a technique might have the same shape, but giving it different names opens the students mind to different possibilities of usage of said shape. Yat ji choy describes the shape, while chuin choy -penetrating-offers a particular usage of the shape, how it sneaks in through the defenses. Faw jin choy is explosive and comes out of nowhere, due to a change in body angle in relation to the opponent and the previous strikes.
Sometimes, a rose by any other name smells differently.

In our Gung Gee Fuk Fu kuen, Chan Hon Chung lineage, the punch before the Wu Dip techniques isnt a forr/fire technique, but a short mok/wood technique with elbow close to the body, as mok/wood is duen kuen.

The third and forth punches of the Forr/fire section in Sap Ying Kuen--after the first two Forr Jin Chuis from Dragon Stance sidefacing-- are fully extended Forr kuens to the front. Different techniques for different elements.
