I watched a movie about Tie kiu sam where he becomes an opium addict. How accurate is this story or is it just another movie for the legend?
Thanks,
Mig

I've heard the story where Tit Kiu Saam was addicted to opium and that, because of what the addiction did to his health, he died from over exertion and illness, related directly to the opium and training that overtaxed his body.

Certainly if you read the translated version of Lam Sai Wing's Tit Sin Kuen book,it states there in the biography at the start of the book that towards the end of his life Tit Kiu Saam was addicted to opium and that it weakened him so much so it killed him. The book also mentions the monk (played in the movie by director Tong Guy) and how Tit Kiu Saam wanted to learn the monk's pole techniques but his body was too weak at that stage to do it
