hello to all Hung Kyun fighters, practitioners and researchers,

in couple of texts there are ng hang kyun and ng ying kyun mentioned as they were 2 separate sets.

well, miost of us know and practice various versions of "five animals". how about separate "five elements"? seems it was taught as a separate set in (early?) period of Lam Saiwing's teaching career. later he taught ng ying kyun and sap ying kyun. today usually only sap ying kyun is commonly taught in our lineage.

any more info about this matter?

i have seen the video of ng ying kyun at your website, as far as i can say it is basically shortened version of ng ying of sap ying kyun, Chiu family.

the thing is that other WFH/non-LSW lineages do not have ng hang kyun at all, at least what i have read and seen, although they have 5 elements in their gjffk/fhsyk sets. Frank Bolte sifu has a ng hang kyun from Malaysia, but it is different set than ng hang part of syk.

is the ng hang kyun as a separate set different from the ng hang part of syk, or is it different (different techniques, different sequence, different choreography etc.)?

offtopic: any info about Huynh Lu Yang (is is a Vietnamese name?) and Wong Saiwing? i have read about Wong Saiwing just in a bio of Grandmaster Jiu Gaau (Chiu Kao), none of the bios of Wong Feihung i have seen metions this name - usualy the same names are mentioned, like Lam Saiwing, Leung Fun, Ling Wangaai, Si Louyin, Si Louwat, Chan Dinbiu, Taap Gengjau, Luk Jinggong, Mok Gwailaan... any other info about this lineage is appreciated, more material for the encyclopedy

first part is from gjffk, next section from jin jeung, last part is ng hang kyun, very close to the ng hang part of sap ying kyun. hard to say if it is original or some recent mix.

the style of kung fu i used to do (www.hungkuen-kungfu.com) separated the 5 animals & 5 elements into separate forms.

Each animal had a separate form & then there was a separate 5 element form.

Unfortunately I dont know much more than that. I was taught by Ang Sifu, but unfortunately didnt grade high enough to start learning gjfyk, fhsyk and 5 Element Fist (this was only taught to black belts).

hello Fraze, i have met couple of students of Ang sifu in the past. his sifu is a big name in Malaysia gungfu komunity, so is his sigung. i have also met some practitioners from Singapore, whose lineage goes back tu Sung Siubou.

would be interestign to find out how does 5 element set of Ang sifu looks like and if it is from his Lam Saiwing lineage or Jeung/Cheong family lineage

i have always wondere why Wan sifu's Hung Kyun was different from other Dang Fung's lineage practitioners - that might be the answer, thnx for info!
