Thank PM,
Now, one question about why made him to write the books or his student during those times of turmoil? I understand that those times we had the zealous patriotism, invasion and opening to the new world. Any ideas why the three books were printed during those times?
Thanks again,
Mig

Lam Saiwing did not write any of these books, his students did. fhsyk was the first to be published (cca. in 1924 i think if i remember correctly), gjffk in 1936, and tsk in 1950's, when Lam Saiwing jung si has already passed away, more than a dozen years ago. (yeah, i know the again and again repeated bullshit that Lam Saiwing has written and published 3 books on Hung Kyun in 1917... )
reasons? faat yeung gwok seut, to "promote gwok seut", "national (martial) art", and to get rid of the "sick of the Asia" nickname that Chinese had. many and many martial arts manuals were published during this time, ie. early republican era. check out an excellent book by Brian Kennedy (also a member of this forum) and Elizabeth Guo, Chinese Martial Arts Training Manuals: A Historical Survey, North Atlantic Books 2005.
