vtml must have lost his mind. if you want to practice taking hits start light, strengthen your NECK not your jaw and always wear a mouth piece. if you dont have good reactions then learn how to roll with a punch lol, its good to stay relaxed and not tense when you get hit. the tenser you are the more your gonna feel it or just get knocked out and feel like a dummy

i meant the way you reacted, your right excessive chewing will strengthen your jaw and give you a little reinforcement and sure if you plan on fighting alot go for it but you have to chew alot and if you dont keep it up..like anything if you dont use it you loose it.
and its just not common for gung fu people to fight, talk is common lol but fighting...no.

Chewing gum, if you chew a LOT at one time can be a good one.
If you want to take hits to the head, do work to strengthen the neck and if you wish to target the jaw in particular, you can tie a rope through a weight, or hang a weight from a towel, and then open your mouth and put the weight in there, then clamp down on it. You can then hold for time or get creative if you wish.
