Unfortunatley, I'm at that age where I attend alot of my friends' parents' funerals. My Dad passed several years back, as well.
-bittersweet experience: I was working on a project for the community (we were building a dance studio in a High School in Harlem, NYC) and I was using my Dad's power drill. I suddenly lost it. Tears streaming down my face. My Dad and I used to do alot of home projects and woodworking/carpentry together while I was growing up. Using his tools just brought everything back.
Now, I use his tools as much as I can. It still gets me choked up (even as I write this) but I get to feel that connection, that bond between a Father and Son.
That lasts forever.
So..I reccomend if you have any of your dad's tools or stuff, and had shared good experiences with them, seek out the time to use them, reflect on the experiences you and he had together, and cherish them.

I just want to say thank you for all of the kind words, thoughts prayers and emails from you. I only know a few people here personally, and the rest I know only through what you post. But I really appreciate you putting up with a guy posting something like this in his grief in a place where it really has nothing to do with the main subject of the forum.
I also appreciate the personal touch used by some of you relating to things in your life. I was/am devastated, and I do not know how long it will be until I am back to my normal lovable self. I just want to extend my heartfelt thanks!
