Postby Tailik » Tue May 15, 2012 4:44 pm

One of the most rare forms in the Jow Ga system is the 1 armed form called "1 Arm Holding the Baby". does anyone know about this form or even seen it? Any information on this form would be appreciated.

thanks brothers

Big Brother,

I remember us talking about this form once and how rare it was. I would love to see it played one day.

I'm curious as to which arm is used when playing this form, the right or the left?

The Hung Fut One Armed form is played with the left arm and the right is tucked in the players belt behind their back. I'm assuming since the form is called One Arm Holding The Baby, the arm not being used is some how cradled in the front of the body as if you were holding on to a baby.

I had not heard of the one arm holding the baby form. I thought only hung fut had a one arm form.

I had lost the use of right arm for almost a year (after i was struck by a car while riding my bike). I started messing around developing a left hand form for my personal practice. It sounds like this one arm form could have aided my practice back when. Luckily that was years ago, and i am all healed now (save for one kinda badass scar :-)

our form doesn't look much like the hung fut. looks more like our Siu Ying Jow Kuen done with one hand with a few symbolic gestures or posses in the middle

We also have one in Hak Fu... It seems that Hung Fut and Hak Fu share a lot in common. I wonder what we may have in common with Jow Ga as well...
